Analysis of telemetered vibration data indicates 3 major sources of vibration -- missile engine acoustics noise at liftoff, aerodynamic effects as missile reaches Mach I, and separation shock when second-stage vehicle is launched; vibration decreases to extremely low levels between 3 periods of major excitation; therefore, transmission of vibration directly from rocket engine through missile structure has negligible effect on vehicle equipment.
