In some implementations, a method may include obtaining target fault data indicative of a preselected fault of a vehicle having a hydrogen source. Further, the method may include obtaining vehicle fault data indicative of a fault of the vehicle. The method may include identifying a match between the fault and a preselected fault. Further, the method may include, in response to identifying the match, excluding hydrogen from the hydrogen source in order to reduce the outcome of a battery thermal event by reducing the likelihood of hydrogen fuel firing.
