The invention relates to a steer-by-wire system (1), comprising a steering column module (3) and a steering gear (4), the steering column module (3) having a rotational angle sensor (7), an actuator (8) and a control unit (9), and the steering gear (4) having a control unit (12), an actuator (13) and a sensor device (14), the control units (9, 12) being connected in terms of data, the control units (9) being designed such that the sensor device (14) is designed such that the sensor device (14) is designed such that the sensor device (14) is designed such that the sensor device (14) is designed such that the sensor device (14) is designed such that the sensor device (14) is designed such that the sensor device (14) is designed such that the sensor device (14) is designed. The actuator (8) is actuated by the control device (9) in such a way that the actuator (8) wakes up in the parked state and a current steering wheel angle of rotation is detected, and wherein the control device (9) actuates the actuator (8) in such a way that it maintains the current steering wheel angle of rotation or another predetermined steering wheel angle of rotation when the steering wheel angle of rotation changes, and/or the control device (12) is designed in such a way that the actuator (8) is actuated by the control device (9). The control device (12) actuates the actuator (13) such that the actuator (13) wakes up in the parked state and detects or determines the current rack position, the control device (12) actuating the actuator (13) such that it maintains the current rack position or other predetermined rack position when the rack position changes.
