A transformer-based charger 103, a transportable storage-based charger 104 and a switching system 105 are provided. The transformer-based charger is configured to receive input current from a grid system, and supply output current to the switching system 105. The transportable storage-based charger has a battery of lithium titanate cells, configured to receive an input current from said grid system, store received charge and supply an output current from said battery of lithium titanate cells to said switching system 105. The switching system 105 is configured to selectively supply recharging current to an electric vehicle 101.
