To protect a protection object vessel from a torpedo coming toward the protection object vessel which is a surface vessel or a submarine by being navigated underwater after being ejected or dropped from a surface vessel, a submarine, or an air plane.MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM: A protection object vessel 1 is protected from a torpedo 2 by using at least one function of a torpedo detection function, a fuse nullification function, or a torpedo detonation function imparted to a defense line 12 itself or torpedo handling devices 13 distributed on the defense line 12 by forming torpedo protection ranges Ra, Rb, Rc surrounding the protection object vessel 1 by installing or towing the defense lines 12 composed of line-like bodies in a single number or in plurality numbers.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】水上艦、潜水艦、航空機などから発射や投下されて水面下を航走して、水上艦又は潜水艦である防御対象船に向かって来る魚雷から、防御対象船を防御する。【課題手段】索状体で構成された防御索12を単数本又は複数本、防御対象船1の周囲に設置又は曳航することで、防御対象船1の周囲に魚雷防御領域Ra、Rb、Rcを形成して、防御索12自体又は防御索12に分散配置された魚雷対応装置13に付与された魚雷探知機能と信管無効化機能と魚雷起爆機能の少なくとも一つの機能を用いて、防御対象船1を魚雷2から防御する。【選択図】図1
