Recent years, Low Earth Orbit(LEO) satellites has been regarded as a potential satellite navigation methods in the future due to its unique platform and orbital advantages. LEO mega-constellations has become a “new battle field” in the global competition of space strategic resources. From the perspective of navigation and positioning, the LEO mega-constellation can bring more navigation signal sources, which can enhance the performance of the existing middle and high-orbit satellite navigation system, and can also serve as a backup of the existing satellite navigation system. This paper proposes a satellite augmentation system based on LEO mega-constellation. Firstly, the current situation of global LEO mega-constellation is summarized. Secondly, based on the advantages of LEO mega-constellation, a framework of augmentation system is designed. Finally, the performance of augmentation system is simulated and analyzed. The simulation results can provide design and technical reference for the construction and development of LEO mega-constellation in the future.
