• We developed a new departure procedure in a shared airspace • We emulated a scheduling concept to optimize opportunities for departures to climb through gaps in arrival flows • We demonstrated that the more accurate the departure times were, the higher the chance aircraft could climb unrestricted • We tested a point-out coordination mechanism that could be cumbersome at times • There is a need for early and seamless coordination as well as better decision support tools for controllers • There is a need for multiple path options to correct for departure time errors.
