Statewide Transportation Improvement Program for federal fiscal years 1995 - 1997 has been prepared by the Arkansas State Highway Commission in response to Title 23 U.S.C. 135- Statewide Planning Requirements, as amended by the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) of 1991. The projects listed are for the program period from October 1, 1994 through September 30, 1997. Authorization may be requested for any phase of development (i.e., Preliminary Engineering, Right of Way, Utilities, or Construction) during F.Y.'s 1995- 1997. Authorization for pre-construction phases of development for projects scheduled for F.Y.'s 1996-1997 may be requested in 1995 in order to prepare the project for construction within the year scheduled. With respect to urban areas greater than 50,000 in population, the Federal Transit Administration Projects listed in the Transportation Improvement Programs (TIP's) that have been developed by the various Metropolitan Planning Organizations are hereby included as part of the overall Federal-Aid highway construction program.
