Problem of behavior of wing during and subsequent to its entrance into vertical gust considered; former results have shown that wing deflections greater than those corresponding to steady-state values are produced by combinations of gust gradient and wing elastic properties; paper attempts to determine whether this conclusion may be due in part to neglect of non-stationary effects.
