New type of pulsed thruster is described, and measurements of momentum communicated to pendulum by gas blast are reported; with use of honeycomb collector on pendulum, error introduced by reflecting particles was eliminated; at maximum total electrical discharge energy of 2800 j, of which 1700 j were dissipated in thruster, momemtum of 8150 g-cm/sec was measured; measurements of mass consumption/shot yielded values ranging from 2 to 8 mg shot, depending on operation; momentum and mass consumption measurements point to effective specific impulse values of 1000 sec.
