Introduction of computer control of road traffic over 6.5 sq mi area in West London, England; about 70 sets of traffic lights and 30 signaled pedestrian crossings are being connected to two computers at control center which is provided with closed-circuit television equipment; principal object of computer system is to coordinate all traffic signals to minimize travel time.
