To correctly detect elevator users present near the door even when lighting conditions change.SOLUTION: An elevator user detection system according to an embodiment comprises imaging means, detection area setting means, boundary detection means, motion detection means, and determination means. The detection area setting means sets a detection area on a first structure including the boundary between the first structure and the second structure near the door on the image captured by the imaging means. The boundary detection means detects the boundary between the first structure and the second structure on the image in the detection area. The motion detection means detects changes in brightness of the image caused by the movement of a user or an object in the detection area. The determination means determines that there is a user or object near the door when a break in the boundary between the first and second structures is detected and when a change in the brightness of the image caused by the movement of a user or object is detected at the location of the break.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】照明条件が変化しても、ドア付近に存在する利用者を正しく検知する。【解決手段】一実施形態に係るエレベータの利用者検知システムは、撮像手段と、検知エリア設定手段と、境界検知手段と、動き検知手段と、判定手段とを備える。上記検知エリア設定手段は、上記撮像手段の撮影画像上で上記ドア付近に設けられた第1構造物と第2構造物との境界を含んで、上記第1構造物に検知エリアを設定する。上記境界検知手段は、上記検知エリア内の画像上で上記第1構造物と上記第2構造物との境界を検知する。上記動き検知手段は、上記検知エリア内で利用者または物の動きに伴う画像の輝度変化を検知する。上記判定手段は、上記第1構造物と上記第2構造物との境界の途切れが検知され、かつ、その途切れた位置で利用者または物の動きに伴う画像の輝度変化が検知された場合に、上記ドア付近に利用者または物が存在すると判定する。【選択図】 図1
