To provide a drunken state detecting device which suppresses a false detection and which can properly detect the drunken state of a driver.SOLUTION: A drunken state detecting device S is loaded near a driver's seat and is capable of detecting the drunken state of a driver MD. This device is configured to be able to detect, in a non-contact state with a skin, an alcohol component contained in an exhaust gas exhausted from the skin of the driver, and includes: a gas detecting sensor 10; a gas storing recess 12 configured to store the gas detecting sensor therein, and to be able to store the exhaust gas therein by being touched and covered by a hand RH to a circumferential edge; and an evacuating fan 15 which is actuated for a predetermined time with the state of the hand covering the gas storing recess being detected, and which is placed adjacent to the gas storing recess so as to be able to evacuate air or the exhaust gas stored in the gas storing recess when actuated. The gas detecting sensor is set so as to be able to measure the exhaust gas stored in the gas storing recess after the deactivation of the evacuating fan.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
