A vehicle operation control system for safety and fuel efficiency improvement enables a driver to drive a vehicle by using an automatic brake function for detecting a forward object in a state where neither the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal are stepped by the driver and a shift lever locking function for moving the shift lever to a neutral position in a stationary state and fixating the shift lever to the neutral position in a dangerous situation, and by unlocking the shift lever and turning off the automatic brake function only when there are no dangerous factors for starting the vehicle after stopping, the gear shifting of the vehicle is normal, and the driver steps on the accelerator pedal. Therefore, the present invention prevents accidents caused by carelessness of the driver while the driver is driving the vehicle at low speed or starting the vehicle after stopping, thereby reducing fuel consumption of the vehicle in a stationary state and improving fuel efficiency.

    안전과 연비 향상을 위한 차량 운행제어시스템은 운전자가 상기 가속페달과 브레이크페달 모두 밟고 있지 않은 상태에서 전방 물체를 감지하여 추돌 위험이 있을 때 작동하여 정차 및 유지하는 자동브레이크 기능과, 정차 중 변속레버를 중립으로 이동시키고 위험한 상태에서 그 변속레버를 중립위치에 고정시키는 변속레버 잠금 기능과, 정차 후 출발을 위해 위험요소가 없고 정상적으로 변속하고 가속페달을 밟은 경우에만 변속레버 잠금 해제 및 자동브레이크 기능을 해제하여 주행할 수 있게 함으로써, 서행지 방심운전에 의한 사고와 정차 후 출발시 부주의에 의한 사고를 방지하며, 정차 중 연료소비를 줄여 연비를 개선시킨다.
