There is an increased focus on renewable energy solutions within the maritime industry to decrease carbon emissions at sea. Solar energy is a great option for marine ships however, it is intermittent to guarantee a steady power supply. We need docking bays for these stations on board, ready to accept the fast-charging pods. This study recommends optimal places for solar charging stations along the sea route connecting the New York port, United States to Jawaharlal Nehru port, Navi Mumbai, India. Five years of hourly solar irradiance data from 500 sites were examined. Medium data analysis (MDA) was used for pre-processing, feature selection, and outlier removal, resulting in a subset of forty-four locations. SARIMA model was used subsequently to narrow down these selections to 15 ideal locations. In order to capture the non-seasonal trends of maritime solar irradiance, SARIMA model is introduced while keeping the environmental factor in consideration. Model evaluation was performed majorly by calculating Mean Absolute Error (MAE) to observe the error margin and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) is taken in consideration when MAE values for a certain location turns out to be same. This research contributes a data-driven pathway to solar energy optimization for the maritime sector, with the aim of improving the performance and the viability of shore-to-ship charging stations.
