The article describes intelligent transport systems (ITS) are the implementation of technologies that are based on telecommunication and computer science that solve problems of transport of people and goods using these technologies thus obtaining cost and time savings in addition to reducing accidents and reducing environmental pollution. The objective of this research is to know the impact of the applications of SIT in the transport of cargo and urban logistics. The systematic review of the applications of the SIT was identified in the following search engines: Scopus, ScienceDirect, Scielo, Researchgate, Ebsco, Alicia, Redalyc and The Reference, using keywords related to our research. Several articles were selected that met various criteria for the proper functioning of the work. We conclude that the impact of the implementation of ITS in the transport sector is positive because, according to articles already reviewed, they mention that the implementation of ITS made a significant change in several companies since the implementation of ITS results in increased profitability of the transport companies, an improvement in transport processes, cost savings, time savings, and safety for both people and merchandise.
