The use of Command, Control, and Communications Countermeasures (C3CM) in a tactical battle situation is considered to be one of the strategies with which the battlefield commander can reduce the effectiveness of the enemy's forces. A number of programs are currently evolving to address and correct C3CM deficiencies and to provide operational capabilities. The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the AFSC C3CM program. It contains a perspective of C3CM strategy and its combat support potential; a description of the organization and programs within the ESD Deputate for Command, Control, and Communications Countermeasures; and the objectives and development plans for future C3CM programs.
