Description More than 100 illustrations and a five-program software package are combined in Computational Flight Dynamics, a detailed instructional kit illustrating digital solutions to problems in aircraft dynamic stability, control, and flight performance. Busy aerospace engineers, scientists, and graduate students with a working knowledge of FORTRAN will learn–-in a step-by-step format–-several effective programming techniques in a range of flight dynamics areas. Of the five programs included, FLIGHT and LOCUS–both previously used in flight control system designs for two production unmanned air vehicles–provide the necessary tools for studying uncontrolled aircraft motions, stability, and the design of automatic flight control systems. A DOS or Windows environment is required for the FORTRAN programs included on the 3.5-inch diskette, which contains source programs, run (input) files, and database files. Access to a compiler for FORTRAN 77 or 90 is also necessary.
