P.T. Indonesian Ports (Pelindo) I, II, II, IV have merged to become a port holding company. The pattern of competition as a holding has no clear concept. This study aims to formulate the pattern of competition in Indonesian ports after becoming a holding company. Data collection was carried out by field observations in all selected Indonesian ports, including Pelindo I, II, III, IV. Then interviews with the main stakeholders, namely port operators, shipping companies, and selected freight forwarders. The analysis uses a qualitative approach. The analysis results show that Pelindo's competition pattern will follow five competitive forces (Porter, 1980): competition between existing ports, threats from new ports, threats from substitute ports, bargaining power against port users, and bargaining power against port suppliers.
