A new approach for virtual prototyping validation is presented, with a focus set on automotive products. The proposed approach is based on specific automotive industry requirements for products, in relation to the application of misuse of force. The requirements are defined for physical prototype testing and converted to virtual prototyping which helps to check design at an early stage of its design development, decreasing overall product development expenses. Built virtual prototype is of a complex assembly that requires nonlinear contact behavior and increases the level of complexity of the entire procedure. The developed approach is step-based and it is demonstrated through an industrial example for Central Information Display rigidity and strength assessment.
