The ship is one of the modes of water transport capable of transporting substantial numbers of passengers and large quantities of cargo over long distances between islands and countries. Fire onboard is one of the dangerous emergencies for ship operation that can pose an immense risk to cargo, marine pollution, and even life. In general, fire fighting systems onboard ships still use a water sprinkler system. This research aims to build a prototype hyper mist fire fighting system based on Arduino Uno is used for learning media. The authors use the research and development method with the prototyping method. The results show that the prototype is successfully done and worked on the Arduino program. Preparing tools, materials, and components; designing prototype; drawing schematic diagrams; assembling components; microcontroller programming; and trials so that prototype is working effectively as the function are the process has to be done to make this prototype. When a fire occurs, the alarm ringing and within 5 minutes, the misting pump will start automatically to extinguish the fire. After the fire is out, the misting pump automatically stops, and the system returns to normal. This prototype is “Good” for learning media following the test results. The high specification of the sensor, other electronic components, and also newest methodology are needed to improve the performance of this prototype.
