The transportation of long-length freights requires the use of specialized vehicles. A road train is a vehicle with higher danger in its movement due to its many parts and large overall dimensions. To ensure that the normative requirements of maneuverability in long wheelbase trains, primarily, need steps in the direction of theoretical research should be taken. The research findings will be the basis for solving many issues of technical, organizational and legal nature. The combined system for controlling of the semi-trailer, which includes a double control and braking one board of six-wheel dolly semi-trailer has been considered. A mathematical model of the movement of a long-wheelbase semi-trailer truck that includes the electrical control system has been composed. The indicators of maneuverability, namely the size of the road lane of the train with different control systems have been defined theoretically. Experimental research of maneuverability was carried out to verify the results obtained by using the analytical method. A convenient method is research on scale physical models. Special equipment, which allows for conducting research of the maneuverability of trains in physical models was constructed and manufactured at the laboratory of the Department of Motor Vehicles at the National Transport University..
