The paper analyzes a new method of controlling the vacancy of track sections by continuous tone track circuits, which allows the operation of automatic blocking systems without structural redundancy of track circuit equipment. Moreover, the system, in case of equipment elements failure, continues to operate, ensuring reliable and safe organization of the transportation process and eliminating economic losses from railway transport downtime. The method consists in the fact that the track generator signal of a track circuit is received not only by its track receivers, but also by track receivers of neighboring track circuits. If the receiving or feeding end equipment of the track circuit under consideration fails, track sections adjacent to the ends of such a track circuit are merged, thereby replacing the control of the section with faulty elements by the control equipment of adjacent track circuits. A scientific substantiation of the operability of a new method was carried out.
