In the field of ship tracking, we need to make the corresponding position estimation to the ship in a period of time, so as to achieve the target of real time control. Based on the analysis of the federal Kalman filter, this paper proposes the fusion method with AIS and radar sensor based on federal Kalman filter. And with the aid of Matlab simulation tools, it compares the prediction effects of single Kalman filter and federal Kalman filtering track. Through the experimental data it can be obtained: Kalman filtering can be used for ship target tracking, its error is large in the first 5 seconds, but was reduced as time passed; At the same time, federal Kalman filter could realize the fusion of AIS and radar data processing, and improved the ship tracking prediction efficiency and accuracy by modifying the distribution coefficient of the information.
