The choice of the route for hazardous material road transportation is not made just on the size of the cost of fees, but also considers the risk of accident costs. The route optimization for hazardous material road transportation is an important measure for improving the safety of the transport of hazardous materials. Based on the analysis of the literature, this paper proposes a mathematical route optimization model for hazardous material road transportation. It takes into account the cost of transport safety and enterprise (considering the transportation and risk costs). Then, it uses the linear weight method for various types of transport costs andand transport risk costs to get the lowest transportation costs. Finally, the best route is filtered out such that the transport companies not only save costs but also reduce the transportation risk.
