In order to obtain the continuous curve speed of a vehicle based on video, this paper presents an algorithm which uses a known length of the vehicle body as the feature length, and obtains the initial vehicle speed through time interpolation. After considering the steering characteristic of the vehicle and the relationship between mass center and feature length, the results are revised. Ultimately, the accuracy of the model in different driving modes by experiments is verified. The maximum relative error of the model is 5.9%; the average relative error is 2.7%, which shows that the model has high precision and reliability.
