Presented is a model for the prediction of wheel/rail rolling noise generating of a high speed train running on slab track. Using vehicle-track coupled dynamics, the vertical wheel/rail force arises from the roughness excitation on the wheel and railhead running surfaces in time domain. Except for wheels as first rigid, the vertical velocity responses of rail as Timoshenko beam and slab as Euler beam are obtained. The wheel/rail force is transformed into frequency domain as an input of finite element vibration system of the wheels, and then the surface vibration velocities of the wheels are calculated. Based on the sound radiation theory, wheel/rail rolling noise of a train running on slab track is predicted. The results show that wheel/rail noises wayside are higher 5-6dB(A) than on ballasted tracks. Most noise emission energies accumulate in frequency range of 400–4000Hz. Wheel/rail equivalent sound pressure levels increase piecewise linearly as train speed increases.
