The airport is playing an increasingly significant role in traffic system for big cities regarding intercity transportation. How to quickly collect and distribute the highly concentrated passenger flow in airport landside is at present a major issue for airport's ground traffic. Curbside is a crucial hub connecting passengers and vehicles concerning passenger traffic of airport landside and a key link for the switch from pedestrian flow to vehicle flow, so a reasonable arrangement and scale of curbside is the key to guarantee a quick collection and distribution of pedestrian flow and vehicle flow. In this paper is analyzed passenger-flow characteristics of departure curbside in airport landside and a model of required scale of departure curbside is proposed by means of queuing theory, which can be used as reference for the planning and design of passenger traffic in airport landside.
