The paper analyzes the current condition of rescuing expressway traffic accidents in China. Then based on the ITS, sets up the emergency rescue system for the expressway traffic accidents. Realized the functions of accidents auto-detection, cooperation of departments within rescue system, information garthing and transfering in time, resucue resourses optimizing, rescue information publishing and service. Achieved the goal of improving the rescue efficiency.
