The aim of this study is to explore the expansion of traffic flow and the conflict between motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles in the left turn traffic mode. Through the investigating data, this paper studies the influencing factors of the expansion width of left turn non-motor vehicle flow from three aspects of non-motor vehicles, motor vehicles, and intersections. We then established the expansion width model. At the same time, according to the conflict and left-turn trajectory, the conflict model between motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles is established. The results show that the selected index factors have a significant effect on the expansion width, and the established model has a general effect through analysis. Finally, we use the model to propose the spatial planning method of intersections, which provides a theoretical basis for reducing the influence of non-conflict interference and optimizing the design of intersections.
