This paper aims to investigate the characteristics of bicycle traffic on bicycle lane and the bicycle traffic influences on motorized vehicle traffic. For this purpose, a field survey of bicycle traffic and motorized vehicle traffic on a road segment with bicycle lane and motor lane separated by marking line is conducted. It is found that, individually, bicycle space mean speed varies in a range which shrinks with the increase of its flow rate, while statistically, bicycle space mean speed is independent of its flow rate. The relationship between the flow rate of bicycle rising adjacent motor lane and the flow rate of all bicycles is derived. The estimation of influence on motorized vehicle speed under mixed traffic due to bicycle using motor lane is described. The findings of this study are applicable to bicycle way and could serve as references for level of service and link performance function.
