Energy and environment problems have been widely concerning. The electric vehicle routing problem (EVRP) has become a new trend since the zero-pollution and low-energy electric vehicle has positive impacts on solving the contradiction between traffic and environment. Considering the transportation cost savings, a new variant of the EVRP called the electric vehicle routing problem with pickup and delivery (EVRPPD) is proposed in this paper, and an integer nonlinear programming model is established. In addition to considering the capacity and time windows constraints, the unique constraints such as the charging time and battery capacity are also considered. Moreover, the pickup and delivery can be conducted simultaneously in this paper. Finally, LINGO10 software is used to verify the rationality and efficiency of our EVRPPD model. The results show that our EVRPPD model can save 5.5% of the total cost.
