This paper summarizes the types of interference among vehicles and bicycles at signalized intersections. The paper studies the mechanism of interference of through bicycles on right-turning vehicles. From the microscope perspective, the paper analyzes the interference procedure, studies the operation conditions of producing interference, explores the probability of vehicles interfered, sets up the model on estimating the number of interference events, and validates the model with collected field data. The testing result shows that the model is appropriate for long-time estimation of interference numbers, but it is not ideal to predict number of interference in a short time. Application result of model shows that the number of interference of right-turning vehicles is significantly associated with traffic volume, arrival and discharge patterns of both vehicles and bicycles, traffic signal design, and lane width.
