Backed by abundant experience in the field of materials handling, Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (IHI) has developed state-of-the-art moving walks "ACCEL-LINER". ACCEL-LINER has treadway acceleration mechanism that enables passengers to move at up to 120 m/min, 3 to 4 times faster than conventional constant-speed type, leaving gate speed unchanged for comfortable boarding and alighting. The system implements inclined or even curved route. ACCEL-LINER is expected to meet the increasing demand for a people mover arising from so-called "transportation gap" ranging around 100 m to 2 km and make great contribution to urban network planning as a newly introduced key component.
