This paper presents the establishment of a finite element model for the Chinese standard metro car body. By employing the Guyan reduction method, modal analysis is conducted on the Chinese standard metro car body to validate its rationality. Furthermore, using SIMPACK multi-body dynamics software, a dynamic model of the system incorporating the elastic car body is constructed. Through this model, the impact of the car body’s elastic modes on the Sperling index of running stability is explored, and the coupled vibrations between the elastic car body and the bogie of the Chinese standard metro are investigated. The results indicate that the running stability of the elastic car body is inferior to that of the rigid car body. Additionally, the vertical stationarity of the middle part of the flexible car body fluctuates more intensely with the increase in speed. The main factor contributing to the deterioration of vertical stationarity in the middle of the elastic car body is the vertical first-order elastic vibration of the car body. When the frequency of the bogie roll mode is close to that of the car body diamond mode, coupling resonance occurs, and the stationarity index is the largest, yet still less than 2.5. When the bogie floating mode frequency is greater than or equal to 10 Hz, the car body vertical stationarity index exceeds 2.5. When the bogie floating and sinking mode frequency is close to the first-order vertical bending mode frequency of the car body, resonance phenomenon will not occur, but coupling resonance phenomenon will be produced between the first-order vertical bending frequency and the geometric filter frequency.
