This paper examines the convergence by selecting different variables in introducing "feedback" in the four-step travel forecasting procedure. The comparisons and the statistics analysis are performed in New York Metropolitan area, which encompasses 31 counties in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut metro regions. It covers 32,000 square kilometers (12,800 square miles) and 20 millions population. As a conclusion, using link-flow is superior than using travel time/speed to control the convergent procedure. The trip table is another required feedback variable.
