The purpose of the thesis is to design and build Delta robot with visual detection system and to apply it on wooden knots detection and overprinting them. Also to investigate the accuracy of the software and the model. The thesis presents a system of wooden industry which is still in development. It is used to automate corrections of wooden knots in the furniture production. Based on the knot defect, corrections must be made, such as applying putty or cutting out the knot and inserting a substitute. The most common correction is applying putty. The announced 3D printer with visual detection system is able to automate the process completely. The thesis consist of examples of existing automation systems using computer vision for defects’ detection, methods of images segmentation, principal of system operations is announced, accuracy investigation of the software and the model, conclusion, suggestions.
