Air transportation stands out as a rapidly developing area and is essentially a projection of globalization. In this study, the World and Turkey in terms of the development of the air transport of passengers and amount of cargo have been examined. Accordingly, air transportation has been significantly affected by the post-1990 globalization events. Turkey, especially after the rise after the 2000s progressed up to 4th place among European countries. The technical and economic transport performance indicators were taken into account. In the study, the number of passengers and the amount of cargo were determined as an indicator of development. Basic data are World Bank air traffic statistics, TUIK and the State Airports Administration statistics. In addition, Development Plans, Ministry of Transport and DHMİ Plans were examined. At the end of study, it has been determined that there are parallels between the developments in globalization and the developments in airway transportation.
