The article analyzes the role of economic and mathematical tools to improve the management of the development of the defenseindustrial complex. With the aim of developing a method of analysis of hierarchies, which is widely used in the solution of a large number of management tasks in the military-industrial complex, proposed a modified computational procedure of finding the maximum eigenvalue and principal eigenvector matrix of pairwise comparisons. The developed procedure is not inferior in accuracy to the standard procedure of the method, at the same time is simpler from the point of view of computational implementation. The theoretical justification of the proposed procedure. Practical application of the developed mathematical tools can improve the efficiency of solving managerial problems to be solved using the method of analysis of hierarchies.
