Object and purpose of research. This paper searches for new technical solutions, aimed at noise emission reduction for small vessels with pod propulsion. Materials and methods. The paper analyses published data about a foreign small-size silent research vessel with pod propulsion. Main results. The paper identifies new technical solutions that reduce underwater noise levels of small vessels with pod propulsion, down to the levels recommended by ICES-209 international requirements. Conclusion. Application of advanced technical solutions in development of Russian small-size vessel will considerably reduce their noise levels.
