We propose a method for establishing membership functions of fuzzy and linguistic variables
using expert estimates and approximations of the method of least squares. Analytically, the basic
parameters of membership functions (reaction time of driver, driver's age, the coefficient of
adhesion), affecting road safety. The results obtained can be further used to develop models for
management and traffic management based on fuzzy logic
