The article presents an analysis of the statistics of the consequences of accidents on ships. Particular attention is paid to the causes of collisions and ways to reduce their number. The types of damage as part of the total damage as a result of an accident on a ship are disclosed. Measures to reduce the level of accidents in river and sea transport are given.
