Adhesives and sealants help aircraft corrosion control by confining fuel, preventing intrusion or trapping of moisture, and insulating passages; most widely used compounds, polysulfide polymers, are found as sealants for integral fuel tanks, fuselages, canopies, access doors, radar and antenna installations, and around scores of other joints and surface openings; major repairs and periodic overhauls of Air Force planes are facilitated by prepackaged kits which permit polysulfide and curing agent to be mixed and dispensed directly from container.
