Design of payload of lunar roving vehicle capable of both day and night operation; three major subsystems considered include communications, power sources, and environmental control; in each area, possible solutions to problems of both manned and unmanned lunar vehicle operation are outlined, and specific solution presented where applicable; suggested subsystem configurations are compatible with existing state-of-art or are conservative extrapolations of present capabilities.
