Marconi Myriad digital computer was used to link 80 traffic signals controlling square mile in center of Glasgow, Scotland, in experiment to measure benefits of various systems of coordinated control; systems ranging from simple fixed-time progressions to "minimum delay" computations based on short term traffic predications were assessed by measuring average journey times with instrumented cars; report discusses modifications to local controllers, data transmission systems, computer and its peripheral equipment.
