To determine degree of involvement, driving record, age, and sex of involved drivers were compared with same information for all drivers with valid license on record with Dept of Motor Vehicles; driving record covers period January 1 1961 to February 1 1967; drivers involved in fatal accidents on Washington highways in 1966 were significantly different, regardless of culpability, from typical Washington driver; indications are strong that drivers involved in particular types of automobile fatalities have typical violation patterns; tabulation of fatality involvement ratio and likelihood for selected age groups; distribution of age and driving record for all drivers involved in 1966 fatalities.
