Attempt to extend generality of ship-maneuvering analysis to include engine-maneuver and steady water-current effects, and to introduce possibilities of very large drift angles and dimensionless turning rates; equations of motion formulated for translation and rotation of surface ship maneuvering in reference frame which is fixed with respect to moving water mass (water current); coefficients of equations obtained from experiment, calculation, and existing data; examples of computed maneuvers; results for sensitivity of ship response to particular ship parameters, for simple ship-docking maneuver.
