Attitude of satellite can be made stable in all three libration angles by suitable arrangement of wires rather than rigid members to give necessary vertical extent; in one stabilization method, four wires are connected to main satellite body at points as far apart as possible; other ends of wires are connected to small mass, yielding pyramidal configuration; normal modes of libration and response to perturbing torques of such satellite are analyzed; it is shown that long axis of main body should point in direction of motion; that is, main body should be held in position of unstable equilibrium.
