Bendix Corp has been working on development of advanced type of brake system; under test is four-wheel disk split brake system with 50/50 brake capacity distribution front to rear axle; current testing indicates that stopping ability is of order of 26 ft/sq sec; essential component is full-power hydraulic system; basic brake design and method of providing split braking system are presented.
