Bulkheads, manufactured by Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corp; for use in oil tankers, built up from plates shaped into troughlike structure, so as to provide desired strength and stiffness without necessity of welding or riveting angle or channel stiffeners to bulkheads, as is common practice; use of bulkhead reduces structural weight of tanker, and provides higher deadweight for same displacement; other important advantages.
